I’m sorry for the lack of posts this week. Usual service will resume shortly. This blog was intended to be a posting board for little tips and tricks I’ve spotted over the years working at Cramlington Learning Village and to be a professional (not personal) space. But given the events of this week, I feel I must mark it in some way.
Cramlington’s head, Derek Wise, died on Wednesday. Derek had been undergoing treatment for Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma for the past few months, and the signs were quite positive that his treatment was working.
Given the germ-ridden nature of schools, Derek’s doctors had advised him to work from home. I personally hadn’t seen him since the start of the year, though his presence was always felt throughout the school. As I’m sure you are aware, it has come as quite a shock to the school.
